Ealing Children’s Services schools behaviour code

    1. Introduction

    Ealing Children’s Services expects that all members of the public, parents and other visitors to our schools will behave in a polite and courteous manner to each other, staff and pupils. It is expected that parents will be good role models with respect to conduct and managing individual concerns.

    Ealing Children’s Services maintain a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards aggressive, violent or anti-social behaviour in all Ealing schools. Such behaviour may give rise to a criminal offence under Section 547 of the Education Act 1996 and the Council will act or support the school in acting to safeguard the members of the school community.

    The Public Order act 1986 and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 provides further safeguards with respect to incidents of harassment. Any breach of this Behaviour Code may result in banning an individual from the school premises or may lead to consideration being given to applying to the court for an injunction and/or to the taking of action under Section 547 of the Education Act 1996.
