Funded after school nature club for KS3 students

13 Mar 2025

Are you a science lead, or key stage 3 teacher?

Linnean Society are looking for high schools with Year 7 and 8 students to take part in a funded nature engagement project running in Ealing this summer.

Timing: 1.5-2 hours after school, one evening a week for six weeks (usually within one school term).

Eligibility: Students in Year 7 and 8 in Ealing.

Cost: This project is subsidised thanks to generous funding from the John Lyon's Charity. For each six week block, we charge a nominal cost of £100.

Running as an after-school club across six weeks (one term), we will come to your high school to deliver sessions using local green spaces - either on the school site or nearby.

We want to build confidence with accessing nature, build enthusiasm for natural history and encourage young people to engage with the natural world through nature journalling, creativity and science fieldwork. There is a nominal cost of £100 to cover resources that will remain with schools/students, with all other costs covered by funding.

We would like to start delivery of this project from Summer 1 onwards and would love to hear from any interested Ealing high schools.
