Ealing agreed syllabus conference (ASC) survey

Every five years the Ealing SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) are tasked with reviewing the legally agreed syllabus for Religious Education.

The review starts in September 2024 with a survey to all schools to gather in our community views about the current document that we use to teach RE.

We encourage every school to think about the RE curriculum in their school and how they use the Legally Agreed Syllabus document.

The deadline for comments is Friday 27 September 2024.

School survey and analysis

October 2024 – February 2025

SACREs appoint Agreed Syllabus Conference (ASC) to review the current syllabus in the light of community/ steering group recommendations. Recruit a small team of teachers to help write further materials

March 2025 – July 2025

Writing group develops further materials

September 2025 – November 2025

Syllabus becomes law. Upload new materials to agreed syllabus website

December 2025 – July 2026

Launch of the new syllabus in schools and at special network meetings: training for teachers

September 2026

New Agreed Syllabus to be in use in schools.
