School place planning report for primary and secondary schools now available

School place planning reports (2023/24) by planning area are now available on the EGfL LA reports page:

The report

This is the fifth year of this report, which includes data relating to births (for primary schools) and pupil numbers based on Ealing school census returns.

The report also includes forecast figures at a borough and planning area level for future pupil numbers. These figures are based on the school capacity survey return (SCAP) which the local authority is required to submit annually in the summer to the Department for Education (DfE), and the GLA (Greater London Authority) forecasts that the local authority receive from the school roll projections service.

Full details on forecast methodologies used can be found in appendix one of this report and details of which schools belong to which planning areas can be found in appendix two.

The introduction of the report contains brief descriptions of each table and graph presented in the report so it will be useful to look at this alongside the data in the report.

We have been developing this report for some time and hope it will help support schools with resource and financial planning for the future.
