Your Voice, Your Town – Ealing Council community events and the potential to find new governors

Are you struggling to fill governor vacancies and need other avenues to recruit too.

Your Voice, Your Town is Ealing Council’s response to requests from local communities to know more about what happens in the place they live and what opportunities there are available if they wish to give back through volunteering and supporting local initiatives.

There will be seven events, one for each Ealing town where schools could promote what they offer, what governors do and the benefits of volunteering.

Action for schools

Any school interested in sending representative staff/ governors will need to complete this sign up form.

Whilst Ealing governor services are unable to attend all events we will endeavour to send representatives to support where we can and provide general information about becoming a governor and an ELP banner to mark the schools section of the venue. If you attend, it will be down to you to organise what you would like to bring / how you would like to promote being a governor in your school.

We appreciate that you do not have much notice for these events, (we have only just been alerted to this opportunity, however we didn’t want you to miss out on an opportunity which could help you fill governor vacancies! If you have any further questions or queries please contact governors@ealing.gov.uk or Tan Afzal AfzalT@ealing.gov.uk Community management co-ordinator.

Last event takes place in Perivale. Location and time will be confirmed after the election in July.

If schools and governors would like to host a table to promote their voluntary roles, please use this form to let us know how we can support you on the day –

Last year, almost 1,000 residents took part Your Voice, Your Town engagement events that encouraged local people to be more involved in the decisions that are made about where they live.
