Guide to family support services 2024 edition
15 Apr 2024
We are very pleased to announce the publication of this year's Guide to family support services
Share with parents and school staff
Please share it with parents in whichever way works best. And please ensure all staff and other professionals engaging with your school get the link to download it and are able to make best use of the information it contains.
This guide will be particularly useful for school staff and other professionals undertaking a Team Around the Family meeting as part of an Early Help Assessment. And for staff with some kind of advisory and signposting responsibilities.
About the guide
In it we have included services, organisations and groups that offer help, guidance and support to families. This guide is being used borough-wide by families as well as professionals across a range of sectors; in particular health.
The guide is funded by Ealing's HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) Programme and 6000 copies have been distributed over Easter to families whose children have attended a HAF activity.
We would like to draw your attention to the section on wellbeing in particular the advice from Family Lives on how to build resilience and emotional health in children and to two new services in the Health and Wellbeing section 'Speak CAMHS Helpline' and the 'Circle Mental Health Hub Space' both offering young people a direct route to speak to someone about their mental health.
And the inside back cover spread outlines all the changes to childcare funding taking place this year and next that will make childcare more affordable for many more families.
We hope you enjoy this publication!
