Primary science CPD programme

Focus4TAPS is a three-day primary science CPD programme for the science lead and a Year 5 teacher.

This new Education Endowment Foundation (EEF)-funded trial is a great opportunity to access the Focus4TAPS programme, which has been found by EEF to have a positive impact on pupil attainment and teacher confidence.

Recruitment is now open to all state-funded schools in various specific areas of England, including West London.

There are a limited number of places for each area, so schools that are interested should register by Friday 24 May: Register your interest for Focus4TAPS professional development

Participating schools

The trial is a randomised control trial, so schools who participate will either be in:

• the intervention group and get the CPD in 2024/25 for a heavily subsidised fee of £150, with a £200 thankyou payment for completion – effectively making the CPD fully-funded
• or the control group who will get a £500 thankyou payment for completion and will be offered the CPD in 2025/26 at a subsidised rate that the thank-you payment would cover.
