Does your current School Travel Champion want to find out how to work smarter on your Travel for Life (STARS) school travel plan?

We are delighted to extend a special invitation to all new and experienced Travel for Life Champions (STARS) to join the upcoming workshops hosted by Ealing Council's School Travel Team.

These workshops (which are the same as those run in autumn 2023) is scheduled for January 2024, are designed to empower and equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to further enhance and promote sustainable travel within our school community.

New Travel for Life (STARS) Champions Workshop - January 9, 2024, 9:30 am to 1 pm

As a new School Travel Champion, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity for you to explore into the intricacies of the Sustainable Travel: Active, Responsible, and safe Travel for Life accreditation program. During the session, you will:

• learn more about the importance of the program in Ealing and its positive impact on our school community
• receive valuable advice and guidance on the steps required to develop and maintain your school's accreditation
• meet and connect with members of the School Travel Team who will provide ongoing support for related activities
• witness a short demonstration on website and gain insights into effectively running activities that promote active and sustainable travel
• acquire tips and techniques for crafting compelling Stories to achieve or elevate your school's accreditation level.

Experienced Travel for Life (STARS) Workshop - January 17, 2024, 9:30 am to 1 pm

For those who have already embarked on the Travel for Life journey, the Experienced Champions Workshop offers a tailored experience. This workshop will allow you to:

• deepen your understanding of advanced program practices and strategies
• share experiences and insights with other experienced champions
• review tartargeted support and guidance for overcoming specific challenges in maintaining or elevating your school's accreditation
• explore innovative approaches to sustaining enthusiasm for active and sustainable travel within your school.

About the workshops

Both workshops will be conducted in person, providing a conducive environment for meaningful discussions, networking, and hands-on learning. We encourage all Travel for Life Champions to take advantage of these valuable opportunities to enhance your role as advocates for sustainable travel. Your commitment to the Travel for Life program contributes significantly to creating a safer, healthier, and more environmentally conscious school community.
