Steering group vacancies

The HAF Team are seeking to have school representation on the HAF steering group. The steering group meets 3 times a year and provides strategic direction to the implementation and delivery of Ealing’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.

We follow the guidelines and criteria as set out under the DfE’s HAF Programme. We would like to have one representative from each of the following groups:

  • Primary school
  • High school
  • Special school

If any school would be interested in filling this role, or finding out more about what is involved, please email HAF@ealing.gov.uk.

Summer 2023 Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme

  • The Ealing Summer HAF Programme ran from 20 July to 1 September 2023
  • The programme was delivered by 50 providers at 85 venues, 37 of which were schools
  • 2,844 unique children and young people attended a total of 21,357 sessions. On average, children and young people attended for 8 days over the summer
  • 81% of attendees were primary school aged and 19% secondary aged
  • A total of 832 attendees (31%) stated on their application that they had SEND
  • A total of 19,683 healthy meals were served over the summer.
  • 7 young people (from last years, year 11) attended and passed the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) enabling them to seek work as a lifeguard.

The Ealing HAF Team would like to thank all the schools who hosted HAF Provision over the summer and all those who supported and encouraged eligible pupils to book and attend or referred vulnerable pupils for a place.

Winter HAF

Planning is underway for our Winter Programme which will be running 22 December 2023 and 2 to 5 January 2024. Please look out for further details to be shared in due course.

How to get involved

The HAF Programme will be continuing into 2024. If schools would like to get involved with hosting or delivering a HAF programme the HAF Team are able to support schools through the process or help to match schools with a suitable provider to deliver their programme.

Schools are invaluable in identifying and supporting the most vulnerable pupils to access the programme and even if you are unable to host a programme in your school, this is a great way to support the HAF Programme and your eligible pupils.

If you would like to find out more, please email HAF@ealing.gov.uk.
