Educational and recreational visits
Educational visits policy
Ealing Council guidance for school visits.
Outdoor experiences provide young people with memorable learning opportunities that help develop independence, self-confidence, and responsibility. The guidance contained within this document will provide organisers and leaders with the appropriate health and safety support to meet their responsibilities in organising and delivering educational and recreational visits.
Ealing Council adopts the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel (OEAP) national guidance This guidance is endorsed by the HSE and all major teaching unions. It is regularly updated and should be followed by all Ealing schools undertaking off-site activities.
Online educational visits coordinator (EVC) training
Schools can now access online EVC training via our Outdoor Education Adviser who has created a ‘blended’ course for schools.
The first part involves carrying out an e-learning module, followed by receipt of an EVC Workbook which is physically posted out, and the second part is a half day zoom two-way session online.
Discount code
Ealing schools can log in with your EGfL user account to access a 10% discount code. Schools should not share this discount code with any schools outside of Ealing. EVC training should be refreshed within 5 years.
Generic risk assessments
You need to login with your EGfL user account to access the risk assessments. To register for a user account, please use the registration form on this site (for Ealing maintained schools and academies only).
