Families can help to shape the future of transport in the borough of Ealing

20 Feb 2025

We’re working on a new transport strategy. Our goal is to enable and encourage more people to get active and leave the car at home when they can – particularly for shorter journeys.

To achieve this, we need input from you and families at your school. Please share information below via your newsletters, notice boards, social media and usual communication channels.

Developing a new transport strategy

Transport is not just about getting people from A to B, it’s so much more.

Efficient, safe and affordable transport supports all elements of community life – it gets us to where we need to be, it helps us build and maintain connections and it opens opportunities.

The choices we make about how we travel can also be powerful, affecting our health and wellbeing, our community spaces and the environment around us.

That’s why we’re working on a new transport strategy, a document which will set the course for transport plans in the borough over the next 16 years.

We want to make it more efficient, safe and enjoyable to travel around the borough and help make walking, wheeling, cycling and taking public transport more attractive transport options.

To make that happen, we need to hear from as many residents as possible about what your ideal travel choices would be and what we can do to make it easy for you to choose them.

Guided by our Travel in Ealing Charter, your ideas, challenges, and feedback will be used to help us write an ambitious transport strategy that meets the needs of all who live and work here.

Workshops and online survey

Our new transport strategy will be written using the comments, ideas and feedback from residents all over the borough through a series of conversational workshops and an online survey.

We want to hear from you about how you are currently travelling around the borough and how this could be improved or changed in the future.

You can share your thoughts and ideas through an online survey, or speak to the team at one of the many events we’re hosting over the coming months.

Throughout February and March this year, we will be meeting with stakeholder groups and holding public events in all seven of the borough’s towns.

A full list of events can be found on the 'Events Happening Near You' tile on the home page.

After the engagement period closes on 30 March 2025, we will report back with what people told us. We will use these insights, along with our wider base of transport data and evidence, to help create our new Transport Strategy.

Eight focus areas

Our travel discussions will look at eight focus areas, to help us understand how you move around the borough, the challenges you face and the ideas you have for improving the choices available.

We want your feedback about:

  • Walking
  • Cycling
  • Public transport
  • Safety
  • Accessibility and inclusivity
  • Driving and parking
  • Environment
  • Creating healthy spaces.
