Calling all songwriters!

This year's Alice Gross memorial song writing award is now open!

Please print and display the poster and make available to your pupils in years 10, 11 and 12.

This is perfect for GCSE composition entries, although it's open to anyone who is composing music within your school or at home - let's spread this message far and wide.

How to apply

The application process requires either pupil, guardian or teacher to email kenningr@ealing.gov.uk, the following:

• Name/school/year
• MP3 or SoundCloud link of song
• Lyrics in email or word doc
• Short statement to support entry - inspiration for the song/what effect you're trying to create with the composition etc

Please enter by 25 April 2025

Winning prize

The winner receives mentorship, a day at British Grove studios a world class recording studio on 3 June 2025 and performance opportunities such as the Hanwell Hootie.
