New Travel for Life Champions workshops

We encourage headteachers to nominate and invite enthusiastic teachers to join the programme and become school travel champions.

These champions will play a key role in promoting active and sustainable travel in the school community, supporting the school’s journey towards achieving and maintaining TfL Travel for Life accreditation.

Join us for an insightful in-person workshop for new school travel champions aimed at helping you confidently step into your role and empower your school community with active travel initiatives.

At the new travel champion workshop, you’ll gain all the knowledge and tools you need to make a positive impact through active travel. We’ll walk you through the TfL Travel for Life programme, guiding you in how to integrate sustainable travel habits into your school’s culture. Whether it’s through planning engaging activities or making the best use of your valuable time, this workshop will set you on the right path to success.

• In-depth introduction to the TfL Travel for Life programme
• Practical advice on embedding active travel initiatives within your school community
• Guidance on how to develop and maintain your school’s TfL Travel for Life accreditation
• Meet members of the team who can provide support for TfL Travel for Life activities
• A short demonstration on the TfL Travel for Life system and tips on running activities to promote active and sustainable travel
• Learn how to write TfL Travel for Life Stories to achieve or increase your school’s level of accreditation
• A comprehensive guide to planning a year of engaging activities
• Tips for using your time efficiently and effectively
