Summer 2024 Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme - Referrals open

20 Jun 2024

Action for schools: Please share leaflets with eligible pupils and families only.

We are delighted to be delivering the Summer 2024 Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme in Ealing.

The HAF programme provides funded holiday provision, including healthy food and enriching activities, for children and young people in reception to year 11 who reside in or attend school in Ealing and are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals (FSM), or who are vulnerable and would benefit from a HAF place.

Summer 2024 HAF

Ealing’s Summer HAF programme will run in the summer school holiday from Monday 5 August – Friday 30 August 2024.

Throughout Ealing, HAF provisions will be offering a wide range of free activities as well as a healthy meal. Eligible pupils can attend for a maximum of 16 days over the summer school holiday.

Vulnerable children and young people: Applications now open

We are able to offer a limited number of HAF places to some vulnerable children and young people who would benefit from attending HAF provision but are not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.

Professionals who are working with families who they feel would benefit will need to complete an online referral application form to apply for them to be able to access the Summer HAF programme.

Please note - the referral form has been reviewed and shortened to make referrals quicker and easier for referrers. A separate form is needed for each child being referred.

Applications open on Thursday 20 June at 11am and will close on Wednesday 21 August 2024 at 12 noon. We advise that you complete the application as soon as possible to be able to secure an eligibility code and HAF provider placement. Please note that vulnerable places should not be used for childcare.

Promote to eligible families: Booking system goes live Wednesday 3 July 2024

You will have now received your delivery of HAF postcards. Your HAF/FSM codes are included in the covering letter with your delivery for your information.

Primary schools will receive the junior HAF leaflet and secondary schools will receive the youth HAF leaflet. Example leaflets in the downloads section.

Please distribute these to eligible pupils and families only to ensure the places go to those who need it most. Eligible families will need a code to book their place, which will be emailed directly to families.

Please note that primary pupils receiving the universal free school meals offer are not eligible for the HAF programme.

Our activity providers’ booking information and FAQ will be available through the ‘HAF Bookings’ tile on our webpage.
