ECT Induction - Important update from Ealing Appropriate Body (AB)

Ealing Appropriate Body would like to share the following information:

Deadline for the final reports of current ECTs is 10 July 2024

Schools are reminded that the next deadline for the final reports of the current Early career teachers (ECTs) is 10 July 2024.

Please do not delay submitting reports as Ealing Appropriate Body (AB) will need to quality assure them and make final decisions before ceasing being an appropriate body at the end of July 2024.

We will need to ensure all the outcomes are reported to the Teacher Regulation Agency (TRA) so the current ECTs will be able to access their certificates.

Certificates are issued by the TRA and can be download from Access your teaching qualifications (education.gov.uk)

AB arrangements from September 2024

From September 2024, Ealing LA will no longer be the AB for the induction of ECTs.

Ealing schools will need to ensure that all ECTs (including new ECTs and those who would not have completed their induction in July 2024) are registered with an alternative AB by 1 September 2024.

Retaining assessment reports
