Easter (Spring) Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme - Referrals open

18 Mar 2024

We are delighted to be delivering the Spring 2024 Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme in Ealing, which is being funded by the Department for Education.

The HAF programme provides funded holiday provision, including healthy food and enriching activities, for children and young people in school from reception to year 11 who reside in or attend school in Ealing and are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals (FSM), or who are vulnerable and would benefit from a HAF place.

Spring 2024 HAF

Ealing’s Spring HAF programme will run in the Easter school holiday from Tuesday 2 April – Friday 12 April 2024.

Throughout Ealing, HAF provisions will be offering a wide range of free activities as well as a healthy meal. Children and young people can attend for a maximum of 4 days over the Easter school holiday.

Vulnerable children and young people: Applications open Monday 26 February 2024

We are able to offer a limited number of HAF places to some vulnerable children and young people who would benefit from attending HAF provision but are not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.

Professionals such as schools who are working with families who they feel would benefit will need to complete an online referral application form to apply for them to be able to access the Spring HAF programme.

Please note - the referral form has been reviewed and shortened to make referrals quicker and easier for schools. However, a separate form is needed for each child being referred.

Applications open on Monday 26 February at 9am and will close on Wednesday 27 March 2024 at 12 noon. We advise that you complete the application as soon as possible to be able to secure an eligibility code and HAF provider placement. Please note that vulnerable places should not be used for childcare.

Promote to eligible families: Booking system goes live Wednesday 6 March 2024

You now have received your delivery of HAF postcards. Code are included in the covering letter with your delivery for your information.

Primary schools will recieve the junior HAF leaflet and secondary schools will receive the youth HAF leaflet. Example leaflets in the downloads section.

Please distribute these to eligible children and families only to ensure these places go to the children who need it most. Eligible families will need a school HAF/FSM code to book their place which will be emailed directly to eligible families.

Please note that primary pupils receiving the universal free school meals offer are not eligible for the HAF programme.

Our activity providers booking information and FAQ will be available through the HAF pages on Ealing’s Families Directory
