Therapeutic Thinking - Autumn update

23 Oct 2023

Headteachers and leaders across Ealing are embracing Therapeutic Thinking and starting to see its impact.

By striving to understand children's behaviours through the 'therapeutic' lens, schools are increasingly able to meet needs. Also, schools report that staff are more confident.

Progress

Colleagues who have accessed the training since September are making progress. In every case, they plan to make improvements using what they have learnt from Therapeutic Thinking in all of the following areas:

  • Dealing with pupils in crisis (over 80% of delegates will be adapting their work in this area before the end of term)
  • Enhancing the graduated response
  • Updating the behaviour policy and curriculum
  • Working on whole school culture and ethos.
