What will your legacy be?
Orlene Badu is a former headteacher, education and racial literacy consultant, and an author. Attendees will get a free copy of Orlene’s book, ‘How to build your anti-racist classroom’
10.30-11.30am Krystal Rubie, ELP curriculum and racial literacy lead, keynote speaker
How the curriculum contributes to your legacy
With two decades of classroom experience, and having founded her project Young People Aspire Higher, Krystal draws upon her passion for raising aspirations of young people using Black history to develop racial literacy in education.
11.30am-12.15pm Petts Hill Primary School’s Race Equality journey, followed by table discussion on your race equality journey and legacy.
12.15-12.45pm Lunch
NAHT will have a stand at this event.
12.45-1.30pm Dean Pymble, Campaign manager for Wales, Show racism the red card. Dean’s work has focused on addressing racial equity through the education system, sport, and within the workplace.
1.45-3pm Clare Rees will introduce the ‘Spirals of Enquiry’ handbook- developing pupil and teacher agency and links to the ELP Innovation Hub.
